Past Continuous Tense

जिस हिंदी के वाक्य के अंत में रहा था, रहे थे, रही थी आदि हों  उस वाक्य की अंग्रेजी बनाने के लिए हम Past Continuous Tense का प्रयोग करते हैं। ऐसी वाक्यों की अंग्रेजी बनाने के लिए Past Continuous Tense के इस structure का प्रयोग किया जाता है-

Subject + is/am/are + Ving + object (other words).
Subject + is/am/are + not + Ving + object (other words).
Is/am/are + Subject +  Ving + object (other words)?
Wh-word + is/am/are + Subject +  Ving + object (other words)?

वह अपना गृहकार्य कर रहा था।
He was doing his homework.
वह अपना गृहकार्य नहीं कर रहा था।
He was not doing his homework.
क्या वह अपना गृहकार्य कर रहा था।
Was he doing his homework?
वह अपना गृहकार्य कब कर रहा था।
When was he doing his homework.

वे अपना पढ़ याद कर रहे थे।
They were learning their lesson.
वे अपना पढ़ याद नहीं कर रहे थे।
They were not learning their lesson.
क्या वे अपना पढ़ याद कर रहे थे।
Were they learning their lesson?
वे अपना पढ़ याद कैसे कर रहे थे।
How were they learning their lesson.

विद्यार्थी कठिन परिश्रम नहीं कर रहे थे।
The students were working hard.

वे तुम्हारा इन्तजार कर रहे थे।
They were waiting for you.

क्या अध्यापक उसे पीट रहा था?
Was the teacher beating you?

पक्षी आसमान में उड़ रहे थे।
Birds were flying in the sy.

पशु खेत में नहीं चर रहे थे।
Cattles were grazing in the field.

मेरी मां बर्तन साफ़ कर रही थी।
My mother was cleaning the utensils.

क्या तुम कपडे साफ़ कर रहे थे?
Were you washing the clothes?

क्या तुम्हारे पिताजी स्नान कर रहे थे?
Was your father taking a bath?

क्या सोहन और मोहन टेलीविजन देख रहे थे?
Were Sohan and Mohan watching television?

किसान पौधों को पानी दे रहा था।
The farmer was watering the plants.

क्या उसकी माता जी खाना पका रही थी?
Was her mother cooking food?
